August is a great month to be in Grove City, Ohio! There are a variety of events happening throughout the month. The Summer Sizzle Concert Series, Bourbon and Distiller Festival, The Weekly Farmer’s Market, and Tour of the Grant-Sawyer Home.

The Grove City Summer Sizzle Concert Series

The Summer Sizzle Concert Series is a free concert series held in Grove City, Ohio, every summer. The series features a variety of local bands performing a variety of genres, from country to rock to blues. The concerts are held on Friday evenings in Town Center Park, which is located just off Broadway in Grove City.

The Summer Sizzle Concert Series is a great way to enjoy a summer evening in Grove City. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and relax to the sounds of live music. There is also a food truck on-site, so you can enjoy a snack or meal while you listen to music.

The Grove City Bourbon and Distillers Festival

The Bourbon and Spirits Festival is a can’t-miss event for bourbon lovers! Held in Grove City, Ohio, on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 1pm to 10pm, the festival features tastings from well-known heritage brands to some of the up-and-coming craft distilleries. You can also hear from bourbon craftsmen about their distillation, barreling, aging, and finishing process that give each bottle its own unique character.

In addition to bourbon, there will also be a variety of other spirits available for tasting, including vodka, gin, rum, and tequila. And of course, no festival would be complete without food! There will be a variety of food trucks on site serving up delicious dishes to pair with your drinks.

The festival is also family-friendly, with activities for kids of all ages. There will be a petting zoo, face painting, and a bounce house. And for the adults, there will be live music throughout the day.

Ticket Information

  • Tickets are $30 for 8 tickets and include a tasting cup. After the initial purchase, additional tickets are available at 3  for $10. 
  • Most bourbons are one ticket per taste, but some might be a higher ticket cost.
  • Tickets will be available on the day of the event.

The Grove City Farmers Market

The Grove City Farmers Market is a weekly event that takes place in the heart of Grove City, Ohio. It is held every Saturday from 8am to 12pm from May through October. The market features a variety of vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, flowers, and other locally-made products.

Tour of the Grant-Sawyer Home

The Grant-Sawyer Home is a two-story, Federal-style house. It is made of brick and has a hipped roof. The house has a central hall with four rooms on each side. The front door is flanked by two Doric columns.

The home was built in 1835 and is one of the oldest homes in Grove City. The Grant-Sawyer Home was restored in the early 2000s by the City of Grove City and the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society.

The Grant-Sawyer Home is a valuable piece of Grove City history. It is a reminder of the early days of the community and the people who helped to shape it. The house is also a beautiful example of Federal-style architecture.

The Grove City Historical Society will be hosting a tour of the Grant-Sawyer Home on Saturday, August 13th at 2pm. The house is now open for tours by appointment.

The house is located at 4126 Haughn Rd, and tours are available Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10AM to 2 PM. Tours cost $5 per person.

Food Truck Festival and Shop Hop 

The Food Truck Festival and Shop Hop is a monthly event that takes place in the historic Grove City Town Center. It is held on the first Friday of each month from 4pm to 9pm. The festival features a variety of food trucks from all over the region, as well as a shop hop with specials from local businesses.
